Rain prevented the Reds from taking their cuts on the field. The Cubs did hit 3 out
during the rain shortened batting practice. Two balls hit the Toyota sign , with one
still finding its way onto Waveland. Thats now 5 totals balls hit off the sign or the
posts since in first went up in June just before the Sox series , none of them game
home runs . That means ... if I did the math correctly ... 189 balls (bp) and 6 (game )
homers have missed the sign with 2 of the 5 still finding their way to the street.

No batting practice due to the late game last night and early morning showers. And usually
with a day game after a night game on get-away day means low scoring ... so im not going !

15-3 ! ? Well at least I didn't miss any game home runs on the Avenues .

Reds back in town this weekend with the wind blowing out !!

Only 6 out in BP . A little disappointing after yesterdays barrage . In the fifth
Casey Mcgehee sliced a foul ball over the roof and onto Addison where Jr. Hawk
Nick picked up the souvenir as it came to rest against a bus tire



Just a foul ball ? I think not !! First Ryan Braun hit it for a single , then Prince
Fielder hit a line shot for a 4-3 double play ( resulting in its lopsidedness ) , then
Casey hit it over the roof . And of course it was Thomas Diamonds first Major
League game !!

Nothing hit Waveland or Sheffield in the game , but batting practice was awesome !!
note: that is the first time awesome has ever been used in a sentence on Ballhawk.net

Total batting practice beats total game score 21 - 19 ... lol .

After batting practice and before the game , I made a friendly wager the total score would
be OVER the total street balls in bp . Of course I guessed the score to me more like 12-10
or 15-9 , not a blowout of 18-1 .

The Cubs hit 6 on Waveland ... above their average , and with simple math you can guess how many
the Brewers hit ... yep 15 , with the lone Sheffield ball being from Jim Edmonds .

Just about every Ballhawk regular caught 2 with Junior Ballhawk Matt coming away the winner with
3 .... all 3 of those caught on the fly , quite neatly , I might add .

Strong WSW winds made for an eventful batting practice ... although not until Cards came up.
The Cubs hit a pathetic 3 , while the Cards ( mainly the Pujols group with Holliday ) hit 11.
Again high skies made seeing the balls very difficult , and most hit the ground with the exception
one one or two caught by Ken. Rich B. grabbed a couple off the building down the line , George
scrambled for two , one off the building and then elbowed his way to another down Kenmore .
I "confiscated " that ball as he made 1 if not 2 " fouls " on another ballhawk ... lol. Meanwhile
Moe , Jeff and myself were shutout .

The main highlight came when the HI GUY got run over by a cop chasing a baseball , with me
sandwiched in between . After first knocking out a first story apartment window , the ball somehow
eluded the police officer as he did his best Aramis Ramirez getting low and in front of the ball . A bad
hop then sent it towards the HI GUY who made the mistake of " making a play " with his foot . I never
knew how much "crap" that guy had on his bike ...now I know as it ended up all over Waveland Avenue .

Decent batting practice , with Mark aka "Rambo" doing what he does best ... plowing
into people...lol. This time I was on the receiving end of his " bad judgment " , but
I held on ... to the ball and Mark , as we both fell to the ground . PHOTO AT BOTTOM

None of Aramis' 3 homers made Waveland. It was the third time this year that feat
has been accomplished at Wrigley Field. Albert Pujols (5/30) and Drew Stubbs (7/15 )

Aramis joins a select club of players to have 4 or more 3 home run games .
